Mozilla Firefox is an open source web browser that blocks most ad tracking by default now. That means ad networks and publishers can expect a huge drop in revenue if most of their web traffic comes with Firefox.

This is likely because the ads are only coming from Mozilla and Firefox related products rather than the inclusion of third-parties at this stage.

Mozilla uses Snippets to display tips, suggestions, updates, and messages about Firefox.

Some people have reported advertising displaying at the bottom of the New Tab page in the desktop version of Firefox.

The advertisement is powered by the Snippet Service of Firefox, and is intended to assemble and deliver content snippets to the about:home page in Firefox.
